يناقش البحث قضية قواعد البيانات الافتراضية وتوظيفها في قطاع المكتبات والمعلومات، وذلك من خلال إلقاء الضوء على مدى إمكانية الإفادة منها في نظم استرجاع المعلومات، وتوظيف إمكاناتها في خدمة الاحتياجات المستفيد المعلوماتية وتوظيفها لخدمة النظم الآلية للمكتبات في التطبيقات المعلوماتية المستخدمة في المؤسسة المعلوماتية. ويوصي الباحث بمزيد من الدراسات العربية في هذا المجال لما له من فائدة على تخصص المكتبات والمعلومات
