جيومورفولوجية الصخور الارتكازية بالصحراء البيضاء في مصر

في منطقة الصحراء البيضاء في مصر، تكوينات الحجر الجيري والطباشيري مشهورة جداً بتشكيل الأشكال العجيبة منها الصخور الارتكازية (المشروم) نوع من هذه الأشكال العجيبة وتظهر على شكل صخور تتميز بقمة صخرية كبيرة وصلبة ترتكز على عمود صخري اقل سمكاً. وتستخدم المشروم لأن تفسر على إنها بقايا الصخور الناتجة عن عمليات النحت والتآكل المختلفة. واستناداً إلى حدوث الظاهرة والتحليل البتروجرافي لها لوحظ أن كثير من صخور قمة المشروم، إن لم يكن كلها، يظهر عليها قشرة خارجية مغطاه بطبقة مؤكسدة رقيقة تشكلت بفعل عمليات التجوية.

Geomorphological of Pedestal rock in the White Desert Egypt In the white Desert area in Egypt, the limestone and chalk Formation is well known for the occurrence of many bizarre rocks.. The pedestal rock (Mushroom rock) is a kind of the bizarre rocks with a cap-rock supported by a stalk. These pedestal rocks used to be interpreted as remnant rocks capped by concretions resulted by differential erosion. However, based on the occurrence and petrographic analyses, many of the cap-rock, if not all, are rather encrusted only by a thin oxygenated layer formed under weathering processes.
