لأداة التشبيه أنواع وحالات فهي تجمع أنواع الکلمة الثلاثة, الاسم والفعل والحرف, کذلک تدور حالاتها بين الحذف والذکر والتکرار والترکيب والخفة والثقل وغير ذلک, والذي يحاوله المبحث إماطة اللثام عن دور حرکية الأداة في إنتاج وتعدد الدلالة، فلايصح أن تکون الدلالة الوحيدة للکاف القوة, أو إظهار مدى شدة الترابط بين المشبه والمشبه به – لاسيما إذا قورنت بکأن- لکنها قد تنتج دلالات أخرى يحکمها السياق، وفي هذا المبحث نحاول تحليل بعض الأمثلة لنرى دور الأداة في إنتاج الدلالات المختلفة.
