يعد التوازي أحد تلک العناصر المکونة للنص الشعري ، إذ يسهم في خلق التناغم بين أجزاء البيت بکل محتوياته ؛ من تکرار للبيت أو أجزاء العروض ، والذي لابد أن تکون بشکل مسبق قد تکونت بشکل متواز دلاليا ونحويا ومعجميا ، وقد وجد هذا المصطلح عند النقاد القدامى من مثل قدامة بن جعفر الذي عده من محاسن البلاغة  ، ولقد تنبه رومان ياکبسون في العصر الحديث إلى هذا الأمر في دراسة له عن الشاعر الروسي خلينکوف– أي بعد التطويح من شعر الملاحم الروسية إلى المنشودات الشعبية – کذلک في دراسته لشعر " بيليني " التي کشفت له قدم مواضيع هذا الشاعر وکذلک کشفت له أساسها التاريخي والميثولوجي ، إلا أنها قادته إلى معرفة التوازي الذي ربط من البداية إلى النهاية أبياتا متجاورة ، وفي تجربة الشاعر العماني سيف الرمضاني ماجعلنا ننظر للتوازي هنا من ناحيته التقابلية ، والتکرارية ، والضاد ، وذلک من خلال مايسمى بالانسجام ، فکلاهما يقترب من الآخر ، بل هو بديل عن الآخر فهو يتجه نحو تحقيق البنية الکبرى التي يسعى إلى تحقيقها النص المعلن  ، وتتزاحم تلک الأدوات المکونة لآلية الانسجام ، ولعل أبرزها ؛ السياق . والذي بدوره سيوضح لنا مدى فاعلية ذلک التداخل بين الأفعال ، وامتداد الفکرة على مجمل النص .

Which in turn will show us the effectiveness of that overlap between the actions, and extend the idea to the whole text.
