لقد احتلت قضية الصفات الإلهية مکانة کبيرة في تاريخ الفکر الفلسفي الإسلامي؛ فلقد شغلت حيزًا من تفکير علماء الکلام بشکل واضح، وکانت مثارًا للنقاش والجدال خاصةً عند المعتزلة والأشاعرة بالإضافة إلى فلاسفة الإسلام والمتصوفة، ولقد کان للسلف منهج واضحٌ حيال الصفات الإلهية، يقوم هذا المنهج على قاعدة إثبات ما أثبته الله لنفسه أو أثبته له رسوله من الصفات ومعانيها من غير تمثيل وتنزيهًا من غير تعطيل.
ولقد رأى رشيد رضا أن منهج السلف في التعامل مع الصفات الإلهية هو الحق البيّن الثابت وهو منهج الأئمة الثقات وهو الأسلم والأعلم وألاحکم. مؤکدا على أن طريقة السلف في إثبات الصفات الإلهية هي الطريقة الأفضل في الجمع بين النقل والعقل.
 
 
Abstract
The issue of divine attributes has occupied a significant place in the history of Islamic philosophical thought. It has obviously preoccupied theologians' minds, and has been an object of debate, specially among Muʿtazilites (Isolationists) and Asha'rites besides Moslem philosophers and Sufis. The Salafis had a clear approach to divine attributes. This approach is based on the rule that any attribute that Allah has ascribed to Himself or that His Prophet has ascribed to Him, is an attribute in a real sense, and is not metaphorical.
Rashid Reda saw that the Salafi approach to divine attributes is the right and fixed approach, and is the approach of trustworthy imams. It is the safest, the most knowledgeable and the wisest approach. He confirms that the Salafi approach to proving divine attributes is the best approach the combines both tradition and the mind.
